I took no photos; so did any of this happen?

After what seems like interminable confinement, we had a run of outings that I'm hoping none of my clients will discern once the work week kicks back in.

We had a great dinner (outside) of course on Wednesday at Diavola with John and Sara; followed by a beer share on Thursday where John Dimmick brought lasagna, the remainder of which he thankfully took home; followed by Book Club on Friday with an amazing pie from My Sugar Pie in Zionsville that somehow stayed here; followed by a birthday party Saturday with people who've become family, deep in the woods of southwestern Indiana where we started early and didn't leave until well into the night.

We're just now back from West Lafayette where we brunched with our favorite Boilermaker, who took us on an 8-mile bike ride that included a little jaunt through Celery Bog, which made us all think of Grandpa Reed. (He hates celery.) We went back to Bistro 501, which is so worth the drive.

We brought up a few things Ali needed and reminded her that with summer over, she could send back some of the clothes that are overloading her corner of her dorm room. She brought down a plastic bin, confessing that we'd caught her before laundry day so, uh, would you mind washing most of the contents?

Nope. I don't mind one bit. She declined my offer of cash as there's little exchange of cash on campus lately. She owes a friend of hers for $40 worth of Laffy Taffy he bought her earlier in the year, but she's paying him back with milkshakes apparently through swipes from her meal plan card. Whatever works, I suppose.

All is good with the redhead, who claimed to be heading up to do homework so she can clear her plate to study for a calculus class. She's still clearly in love with her chemistry lab. Like always, it was great to see her, and even more fun to have her tour us around on bikes.

When she was little, we took a lot of rides and often, at the end, she'd work her hardest to zoom by Jeff as we turned toward home, thereby winning the race we weren't really on. She did that again today, giving him a wicked grin as she whooshed in front of him.

I do like that girl.

We're watching the Colts game now and I'm kind of happy to be laying about. Dinner may be pie.

Hope you're having a great weekend.

Go Colts!
